Mission statement

To advance the quality of life in the communities we serve by providing access to information resources, staff, facilities, and services geared to patrons needs and interests. The library assists users of all ages by developing its collections, and providing services and programs that support the pursuit of knowledge and the development of the individuals full potential.

Responsibility

The registered borrower, or parents/ legal guardians of children 17 and under are responsible for all use of the library card.
Possession of a valid card implies authorized use. Lost or stolen cards should be immediately reported to the library. There is a $1 replacement fee to get a new library card. Library cards that are damaged due to normal wear and tear will be replaced at no charge to the Patron.

Applications

Adult residents 18 and over must complete a registration form and present identification showing current address in Chautauqua or Cattaraugus County.
Juveniles age 5 to 17 must have a parent or legal guardian present identification, register, and sign for them. Also, juveniles must reside at the same address as parent or legal guardian. Children must be at least 5 years old to get a library card in their own name.

Due Dates

The standard loan period for books is two weeks.
Patrons may check out however many books they wish.
The standard loan period for adult and family movies is one week.
The standard loan period for children’s movies is 2 weeks.
Any one household is limited to having 4 movies out at one time, where only one can be a new release.

Overdue fees

Children’s books, children’s movies, and audio books are $0.10 a day per item.
Adult books, audio books and magazines are $0.15 a day per item.
Adult and Family movies are $1 a day per item.
Patrons are charged for the price of a lost or damaged item plus $1.95 processing fee per item.

Renewals

Materials may be renewed one time unless there is a hold or reserve on the item.
Renewals can be done online at https://catalog.andersonleelibrary.org, calling the library at 934-3468, or coming into the library.

Returns

Any checked out materials can be returned either here, or any library within the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System during regular business hours.
There is a book drop available for use when the library is closed.

Placing a hold

Patrons may place holds on items now on by their local library for free through CCLS..
Holds arrive on Tuesdays and Fridays, and patrons are notified once a hold is available. Request are fulfilled on a first-come first-serve basis. Once the hold arrives you will have one week to pick up the item. The library card used to place the hold must be the card used to check out the item.

Interlibrary loan

Patrons pay a $2 fee per item.
Go to www.cclslib.org to fill out an interlibrary loan application for an item, or come into the library for staff assistance.

3d Printer Policy, Pricing and Printing

  • Policy
    • Any patron may submit a shape file to be printed on our 3d printer.
    • Models may not violate any of the following rules:
      • Must not violate any local, state or federal laws.
      • Must not be unsafe, harmful, dangerous.
      • Must not violate copyright restrictions.
      • Must not be obscene or inappropriate for a library environment.
    • Please be aware of the following rules and conditions:
      • The library may refuse any model or print request for any reason.
      • Print success is not guaranteed!
      • Payment is required, even for failed prints.
      • Items must be collected within one week of being printed.
        • All unclaimed items will become property of the library.
      • Items must be collected by the person who had them printed.
      • Only library staff will operate the 3d printer.
    • Pricing
      • Staff will give you an estimate of the final price before printing.
        • All prints are charged by the gram. .10 /per gram
      • Printing
        • Bring a completed 3d model on a USB drive to library staff.
          • Model should be in .stl or .obj file type.
          • Model cannot be larger than 5 X 5.5 X 5.5 in.
        • We will review the model and let you know the following details.
          • Is the item printable and within our established guidelines?
          • How long will the item take to print?
          • How many grams will it will weigh when finished?
          • Price based on weight in grams.
          • Estimated date the item will be ready for pickup.
        • If possible, staff will print the model for you and contact you when it is done.
        • Full payment for the model is due at at the time of pickup.
